Somebody out there is going to need the song you haven’t written yet, and they’re counting on you to not quit today.

So here’s your assignment this week:

Write one bad song on purpose.

Full permission for it to be terrible.

Take the pressure off.

Remember that making music is supposed to be the thing that saves you from the rest of life, not another place where you feel like you’re failing.

Close the comparison tab.

Open a new session.

Press record.

Write one more song.

Spend one more day at the table.
